Church Service – August 29, 2021

The New Normal

We will journey through Exodus with God‘s people as they move from slavery to freedom. While this transition was ultimately good it also included its own set of challenges. Much like what we are going through now, they had to learn to adapt as they adjusted to The New Normal.

We know it’s hard to feel connected sometimes with everything that is going on. We are working hard here at Holy Cross to keep our church family thriving as much as possible while still being responsible with our decisions about the health of our congregation and the community. Here are some ways to stay plugged in to HCLM:

Prepare for Sunday Services – worship song set lists, scripture readings, and questions for deeper thinking will be posted throughout the week on Facebook and Instagram
Monday Night Bible Study @ 5:30pm on Facebook- A walk through the book of Psalms with Pastor Matt and Pastor Chris 
Praying for You – We have always believed in the power of prayer. If there is something weighing on your mind or want to submit a prayer, let us know through our prayer request form or e-mail prayer@hclm.org.
Online or In Person Services – Sunday at 8:00am for traditional service or 10:00am for contemporary
Holy Cross Lake Mary Podcast – Check out and subscribe to our new podcast on iTunes or Spotify. You can also simply ask Alexa to “play the Holy Cross Lake Mary Podcast”

Tithes & Offerings

We give because we recognize that God has blessed us immensely and so we honor Him by giving back to Him out of our tithes and offerings. You can give online at hclm.org/give or mail to church address at 780 N Sun Drive, Lake Mary, FL 32746.

Sunday Morning Seating Arrangements

We ask that members of households to sit together while remaining socially distant from other households with 2-3 seats between families. Thanks for keeping others safe.

September 1- Youth Group

Middle and High School students join Youth Director Blake from 6PM to 8PM in the Youth Center. Invite your griends!

September 2 – “Coffee with Friends” 

Ladies of all ages, mark your calendars for “Coffee with Friends” on Thursday September 2 from 7pm to 8pm at Panera Bread located in Lake Mary across from church. We plan to meet at Panera the 1st Thursday of each month for tea, coffee or even dinner plus fellowship. Any questions please contact Sharon Shyrock at ssshyrock@yahoo.com or text at 407-719-2409.

Lauren Daigle- free virtual concert Thursday, September 2nd. 

We are in need of voluteers willing to serve for Pastor Matt’s 10th Anniversay BBQ. Please email Nicole (nicole@hclm.org) if interested. 

Confirmation begins September 12th. Registration is open on the website. 

Road Clean-up September 18th. Registration is open!

Communion is available in our in person services (1st and 3rd Sunday at 8am and 2nd & 4th Sunday at 10am). For those who are not able to get to a service or are not yet comfortable attending in person services, please contact the office or one of the pastors and we will be happy to make other arrangements.

Birthday Blessings- Thankful that Cody Norman celebrated his 11th birthday on August 23rd.

Prayers for the McGinn family. We pray for peace and blessings for Alan’s friends and family. 

Prayers of Healing 

Lisa Burse- Currently batteling Covid.

Ron Doria- Currently in the hospital with Covid. 

Michelle Blankenship-  Mother of four currently in the hospital and on a ventialtor. Prayers of healing from Covid. 

Brent Brookshire-  Prayers of Healing from Covid. 

Eric Johnston- Prayers for healing from Leukemia and strength for his wife and sons. 

Drew Gut-  Healing from infection in his leg.

Susan Harlow- Prayers for strength and healing from surgery. 

Terry Hall- Healing of her legs so she is able to leave the rehab center. 

Wayne Scheussler – Recently diagnosed with cancer of his vocal chords. Prayers for successful treatments and remission of his cancer and healing of his vocal chords. 

Anita Roehl- Prayers for a bone marrow donor and healing from leukemia. 

Karen Lorenz- Prayers for a successful hand surgery and a speedy recovery. 

Antonio Rosario- Prayers for good results following thyroid biopsy. 

Aaron Seigler-  In critical condition in the hospital with Covid. Please pray for complete healing. 

Kathy Morgan-  Significat cancer diagnosis. Prayers for treatment and recovery. 

Pray for all those suffering from coronavirus-  

General Prayers

We pray today for our nation and our world. We ask that God would be with all of our leaders and elected officials; we pray that He would bring peace to the world, an end to violence and especially watch over Christians that are facing persecution.
