Christmas time, or what the ancient church has always called Advent, is a time when we celebrate and look forward to getting presents! This year we are going to focus on the greatest gift of all, the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives. Discover how his presence enables us to be present in the lives of others. Sunday Morning Bible Study – December 1st
Sunday Morning Bible Study will not be meeting on December 1st but will resume the following Sunday, December 8th.
Dedication – December 8th
On December 8th between 8:00am and 9:30am service, we will be dedicating the installation of the Mosaic commemorating the 35th Anniversary of Holy Cross in Lake Mary.

Poinsettias for Christmas
If you would like to have a poinsettia placed on the altar in memory of a loved one or in honor of a loved one or event, please fill out the envelopes provided for you in the narthex. Each poinsettia is $7.00.
E3 New Member and Information Class
Our next E3 class, for anyone wishing to become a member or seeking to learn more about who we are as a church, will be held on December 12th. The class runs from 6:00pm-9:00pm. We share a light meal together and spend some time getting to know one another, learning who we are as a church and what we believe, and discovering your gifts and how you can put them in a practice. Experience Bethlehem – December 21st
Join us at Holy Cross for a family interactive Christmas experience on Saturday, December 21st from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. Step back in time to experience what it was like in Bethlehem on the day that Jesus was born, and then visit our Community Center for fun activities and camel stew. Reserve your time slot to minimize your wait at HCLM.org/eb or just show up when you can because walk-ins are welcome!

Christmas Angel Trees
This year we are sponsoring four Christmas Angel Trees.
1) Boys and Girls Club West Sanford – Tags with children’s name, grade, gender and wishes
2) Redeeming Life Maternity Home – Gift Cards to buy food and supplies
3) Pet Rescue By Judy – Various items
4) Pregnancy Center of Sanford – Various items
Please return designated tag (name of child) with the unwrapped gift and tag with description of item under the respective Christmas tree by Friday, December 20th. You can keep the ornament. Please bring all gift cards into the church office or give directly to Grace Chewning.
Lutheran Haven 2019 Christmas Seal
In the Narthex, there are the Lutheran Haven 2019 Christmas Seal Packets for their 74th Annual Christmas Seal Campaign. This campaign provides for those who have ministered to so many but now have need of benevolent assistance.
Christmas Shoppe – December 15th
On December 15th the Christmas Shoppe is coming to the 9:30am service for Sunday school. If you would like your child to participate in the event please bring a list of names and how much you would like them to spend per person and an envelope with change and small bills so they can go shopping for the family. The gifts will be wrapped with everyone’s name ready to put under the tree by the time service is over.
Bring Faith Home
Pastor Ethan is continuing his study ‘Bring Faith Home’ nights. All families are welcome to attend. Dinner and childcare is provided free of charge. The event will be held at the Lower Campus cafeteria (5450 Holy Cross Ct. Sanford, FL 32771) from 6:00-7:00pm. Please sign up with Pastor Ethan at espira@thehcla.org for food count. Girl Scouts Parent Night at HCLA Lower Campus
HCLA Lower Campus will host a parent night on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6:00pm-7:00pm at Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Cafeteria (5450 Holy Cross Court Sanford, FL 32771). We are excited to meet you & your family and to provide information about Girl Scouts.

The “Divine Dollies” will gather on Tuesday, December 3rd, 11:30 a.m., in the Community Center for a covered dish HOLIDAY HAPPENING! Along with your appetite, just bring a food item to share.

Christmas High Tea – December 12th
It’s that time again ladies! Time for our annual Christmas High Tea. This year we have scheduled it for Thursday, December 12th at 6:00pm. Please RSVP (Sharon Shyrock at ssshyrock@yahoo.com) if you will be able to come and how many will be in your party. We are asking for a $5 donation per person and that you please bring your own tea cup, saucer, dessert plate, and a wrapped ornament for our gift exchange. Please come and share in this annual Christmas tradition.
