Announcements & Updates
Special Voters’ Meeting – February 14th
We are having a special voters’ meeting to be held at Holy Cross Lake Mary in the Community Center on February 14th at 6:30pm. The Call Committee and Board of Directors are recommending Ethan Spira, a 4-yr Seminary student, for our next Church Plant.
Ash Wednesday Service – February 14th
We will be having Soup, made by LWML, and sandwiches, which you will bring with you, at 6:00pm followed by Special Voters’ meeting in the Community Center, then Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00pm in the Worship Center. Service includes the imposition of ashes and communion.
Sunday Morning Bible Study
Pastor Paul’s Sunday Morning Bible Study is meeting to start a new bible study series on “The Challenge of Islam” on Sunday, January 11th at 9:30am in the Community Center.
Soup, Sandwiches and Lenten Bible Study
Join Pastor Paul on Wednesday evenings during the Lenten Season on “How We Got The Bible” starting 6:00pm in the Community Center for soup and sandwiches. LWML makes the soup and you bring sandwiches to share. They are looking for volunteers to sign up for soup. If you would like to participate, contact Valerie Schulz at email@example.com. Bible Study follows for about an hour. Hope to see you there!
Early Communion Class – February 20th
The class is for 4th-5th grade children, which in their parent’s estimation, are mature and ready to receive the Lord’s Supper. The class starts on Tuesday, February 20th from 6:30pm-8:00pm, then will run each week on Wednesdays through March 28th. After the 6-week class, the students are invited to partake in their first communion at the Maundy Thursday service, March 29th at 7:00pm. Register online at hclm.org/communion.
Kids Easter Experience – March 25th
Join us Palm Sunday starting at 9:00am for an Easter Experience like no other! Kids age 4 – grade 5 are invited to join us for 2 hours of walking through the Easter Story with hands on activities that are sure to get them excited about their faith! Family Serve Road Clean Up – February 17th
We will be cleaning up trash along Longwood Lake Mary Rd. All ages are welcome. We meet at StarChild Academy on Longwood/Lake Mary Road at 8:00am and clean up our adopted road. If we get enough volunteers we can get this done pretty fast! Please bring a trash “grabber” (we have a few) and some gloves.
Family Serve Assisting With Parking – March 3rd
Holy Cross Lake Mary and Holy Cross Academy have teamed up with the Lake Mary Heathrow Arts Festival for a great Family Serve Opportunity. We will be assisting with parking on Saturday, March 3rd. It’s the perfect opportunity to serve for a few hours and then walk around to enjoy the arts with your family. This event is recommended for 7 and up. The Sharing Center – February 17th
The Sharing Center Thrift Store Winter Sale is scheduled on Saturday, February 17th from 8:00am–5:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to set up, wrap and bag purchases, and restock shelves. To sign up contact Patricia Shields at 407-691-3138 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Sharing Center – “Super Bowl”
The Super Bowl has come and gone…no matter who you were cheering for you can help fill the “Soup Bowls” of families throughout Central Florida by donating canned soups to our food drive for The Sharing Center Food Pantry. They have a great need for soup at this time and our donations are helping to feed families and individuals here in our community. God Bless you all for your help, our Holy Cross Family is SOUPER!
Faith & Family Night – March 2nd
Join your Holy Cross family for Faith & Family Night with the Orlando Magic as they take on the Detroit Pistons on March 2, 2018 at the Amway Center! Dream Builders, Holy Cross’ Women Build team, is hosting a BUNCO night, Friday March 9th at Holy Cross Lake Mary Community Center.
