Current Sermon Series – Seasons: New Beginnings

From young to old, having children to empty nesters, changes in jobs and careers, good times and bad, our lives are full of different seasons.  As we move through life we move from one season to another.  Likewise, our relationship with God goes through different seasons.  Just as God moved his people from Egypt to the promised land, from Kingdom to exile, from Old Testament to New Testament, and from the early church to the church as we know it today, God uses seasons and rhythms in our lives as we walk with him.  Holy Cross will be exploring those seasons.  Each sermon series we encounter throughout the year will help us understand the rhythm of life with God and the Church.  From stories about Jesus to teachings about how we navigate through life, we will delve into the seasons of life.  Join us as we embark on this journey together!

Announcements & Updates

CancerBank Steak Fry/Comedy Show – February 8th

This year marks the 10 year anniversary since our church created CancerBank.org a non-profit to help local families battling cancer. This organization is completely volunteer run and every dime of the money raised goes to help families with expenses that insurance does not cover. To honor our 10th year, we are growing our mission and expanding our fundraising efforts to help even more families. On February 8th at 5pm, we will be hosting a Steak Fry Fundraiser with SAK comedy club performing here at the church. We will be serving Steak grilled to order, unlimited potatoes, beans, salad, and bread. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. This is an adult only event and the cost per plate is $40. To register go to CancerBank.org or with questions email Lara at ljackson@hclm.org.

Family Serve – Road Cleanup – February 23rd

NEW DAY AND TIME! In order to make it easier for our families who have kids’ sports on Saturdays to participate, we are trying out a new day and time for our Road Clean-up. This time we will be meeting at 3:30pm at StarChild Academy on Longwood Lake Mary Rd and cleaning until 5:30. After, there will be an opportunity to spend time together by going over to Beth’s Burger Bar to enjoy dinner together if you desire. For more information or questions contact Pastor Chris at ChrisJ@hclm.org.

Sharing Center Food Pantry

Why peanut butter and jelly is the best sandwich? It’s comforting. Most of us grew up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Mom or Dad would make it for us to take to school, or it was the first “meal” we could make on our own. When the rest of the world is chaos, we can always rely on the comfort of a PB&J.  For the month of February we will be collecting peanut butter and jelly for the Sharing Center.
