Auction Items Needed

This year, we will be taking about 50 people on the High School Mission Trip to North Carolina. In order to do that we need to raise some money to offset the cost of the charter bus ($5,000) and the price of the trip for the students. Every year, we hold a crawfish boil as our one fundraiser to help with these costs. We are in serious need of new items for the silent auction. Do you own a business? Or are you part of a company that could help? Please contact Youth Director Daniel Robison at daniel@hclm.org or feel free to drop your tax deductible item off at the church. Thanks for supporting our outreach mission and our youth!

Ladies Bible Study

This months Ladies Bible study (LWML) will be April 26th. The meeting will start at 6:30 with business and the Bible study should start at 7pm. “The Secret of the Feasts, Part 2, should be very interesting. If you missed last month’s Part 1… No problem…you can still learn much about the celebrations that our Lord Jesus observed. There are rumors of a yummy Jewish dessert that might be served as well. Hope to see you there! Any questions contact Sharon Shyrock at ssshyrock@yahoo.com.

Book Club

Big Little Lies, by Liane Moriarty, is full of women with ethical and emotional issues, men with possibly criminal ones, and contentious goings-on at an elementary school. Had Agatha Christie written it, it might have been called “The Kindergarten Murder.” Want to know more? Join the discussion on Monday April 25th, 7PM in room 203.

Holy Cross 101

Pastor Matt is offering a new member class, no secret handshakes, no passwords involved. It will be a onetime class on Thursday May 5th from 6-9PM. It will be a meet & greet with other new people, a Q & A with Pastor Matt and an introductions to our beliefs. It is a chance for you to learn more about Holy Cross and meet other people in a fun and friendly atmosphere. A light dinner will be provided.  If you plan on attending, please contact Pastor Matt at mwallis@hclm.org.

Hello, Beauty Full

Women struggle under the on going weight of “not-enoughness.” Not attractive enough. Not smart enough. Not fit enough. Not creative enough… And therefore, not beautiful. We are broken and ashamed to be so. In our eyes, brokenness makes us unlovable and unusable. But in Scripture, God is clear that he sees us the way we already are in Christ: deeply loved and abundantly influential. Hello, Beauty Full explodes the shame-based mythology of our “not-enoughness,” empowering women to see ourselves as beautiful creations designed by God.  We will meet every Monday starting May 2nd from 10 am-11:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Each participant can purchase the study book for a cost of $12-$15.  This is an 8 week study. We are excited to connect and share this information with others.
