Book Club
At twenty-two, Cheryl Strayed thought she had lost everything. Four years later, with nothing more to lose, she made the most impulsive decision of her life. With no experience or training, she would hike more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert to Washington State — and she would do it alone. Told with suspense and style, sparkling with warmth and humor, this book powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddened, strengthened, and ultimately healed her. Share your thoughts with the book club as they discuss “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Coast trail” on August 22nd at 7PM.

Your LWML Mite Money at Work
This $100,000 Mission Grant will be used for mission work among the Lost Sheep of Israel through Apple of His Eye Mission Society. Bold steps need to be taken to do the hard work of seed sowing so that God’s spirit can draw people to himself. This is important because Jewish people are dying without faith in Christ. The funds will be used to help identify and train Israeli Jewish believers to develop systems and strategies for outreach and planting house fellowships, just as in the days of the early church. Next week is collection of mites.
