Join an L Team

Jesus formed a team of people around Himself, and we believe we should be on a team too! Discipleship and growth happens best in the context of relationships. L-Teams give us the opportunity to build those relationships as we form little pockets of community in our life. Here are some L Teams we currently have at Holy Cross:

Pastor Poker

Before there were video games, people used to play cards! For those of you who were raised to sort and hold those cards in your hands we are offering an opportunity to join with other like minded people to play cards for fun. We play Texas Hold Em with a $5.00 buy in. At the end of the night the winner picks the charity that receives the winnings. You do not go home with the winnings, your buy in is a donation. So poker without gambling! What could be better. We play at Pastor Paul Hoyer’s house and we start at 7:00pm and go until we are done usually around 10:30 to 11:00pm. Bring your own beverage! Contact Pastor Paul for more information

Pastor Matt’s Wednesday Noon Bible Study

Starts Jan 13th, topic to be determined

“…And I Ran”

This L-Team is for ladies whom share a passion for running; whether they’re first starting out, or have experience with running and are looking for fellowship. Our team provides coaching and encouragement. We keep pace between 10:30 – 12:30 minutes per mile to ensure that our newer runners stay with the group. Our group meets every Saturday morning at the trail head located behind Panera Bread in Lake Mary. We start our run at 7:15am sharp, and run 3.1 miles (a 5K distance). Please email Laura Gelchie at for further information.

The LWML is a mission focused L-team for Lutheran Women in Mission. We collect “mites” and do service activities to help others. Our monthly fellowship and Bible studies are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Our mission is to be God’s hands and feet; to Serve Him whenever and wherever He leads us. All women, young and “young at heart” are welcome. Contact Sharon Shyrock at for information.

Last Thursday of the Month Dinner Club

If you enjoy eating and making new friends, then you might want to try this L Team. We dine at a different restaurant each month and share good food and fellowship. If you’re interested in joining us, just call Joanne Hench at 407-322-6004. Check the Weekly bulletins for our January dining experience.
