Chili Cook-Off January 31st

At noon on Sunday, January 31st in the Fellowship Hall, it’s going to get a little spicy!  That is because the chase for the 2016 Championship Ladle is bubbling over.  All we need now is a bunch of Chili and our hungry chili fans.  There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd as voted by the Lake Mary Fire Department. Hot or not, vegetarian or meat, email Pastor Chris chrisj@hclm.org to register your Chili.

Summer Mission Trip 2016

July 17-23, our high school students are traveling to the mountains of North Carolina to partner with a home repair mission organization called ReCreation Experiences. Students will engage in a multitude of jobs. We do this for individuals who, for either financial or physical limitations, cannot have this work done themselves. It’s an awesome opportunity to serve with the love of Christ and also to grow closer with each other. First meeting for our main fundraiser for this event, the Crawfish Boil, is next Sun Jan. 17, at 12:15 in the youth room. Any questions, contact Daniel Robison at daniel@hclm.org.

High School Beach Retreat

February 5-7 is our annual high school beach retreat. We’ll be tent camping and doing several small hikes exploring some of the preserved barrier islands of northeast Jacksonville. Plus several fireside meetings where we’ll worship, pray and explore our faith in new and deeper ways. $50 covers everything. Spots are limited! Contact Daniel Robison at daniel@hclm.org for more information.

General Announcements

Sharing Center

Peanut butter and jelly work harmoniously together to make sandwich perfection. The sweet jelly cuts the stickiness of the peanut butter in the nicest of ways. And peanut butter balances out the sugariness of the fruity jelly. For the month of January we will be collecting peanut butter and jelly for the Sharing Center.
