Special Announcements

Why do we baptize babies?

“Babies are innocent!”  “I could never believe a baby would go to hell just because they aren’t baptized!”  (We don’t either, by the way.) “You need to be old enough to DECIDE to be baptized!”  These are all statements born out of misunderstandings of how and why God works through baptism, and of sin and salvation in general.  Largely because of the way Roman Catholicism has historically misunderstood and misused baptism, many protestant churches have completely rejected the Sacramental workings of baptism and instead have made it about our choice, decision and obedience.  Come join us this weekend as we explain baptism and answer the question, “Why do we baptize babies?”

Be Heard

Holy Cross Lake Mary is conducting a church wide survey. This is the last week for you to go online to hclm.org/survey or pick up a paper copy in the narthex and voice your opinions. Your input will help guide us as we look to the future. There are different surveys for new attendees vs seasoned veterans so choose accordingly.

Confirmation Class for 7th graders

We would like to invite your 7th grade child to join us for our 2016-2017 Confirmation Class. Confirmation is an opportunity for students to confirm their faith in Jesus Christ and lay a foundation which they can build upon for a lifetime. The program is small-group based and is designed to be fun and engaging. The class meets weekly on Wednesday nights. Over the course of the year, students will learn about their faith, become familiar with the Bible, be encouraged in their prayer life and develop a personal testimony. In addition to the weekly meetings, there are two weekend retreats. A fun 3 day retreat held in August where the students will “walk through the Bible” and a 2-day retreat held near the end of the year. There is a one-time registration fee of $125.00. You may go online to hclm.org/confirmation to register online.
