Seminole County Serve Saturday – September 16th

Blood Drive: September 17th

“One Blood” will have their bloodmobile this Sunday, September 17th parked in the front from 9:00am -2:00pm.

Financial Peace: September 17th

The Financial Peace University class is meeting September 17th. This is a great opportunity to learn about aligning your finances with your values. Most attendees recover $1,000s of dollars by following the “baby steps”.

A Man Named MARTIN – September 17th

Martin Luther’s Spirit-inspired grasp of justification through faith was the cornerstone of the Reformation. His faith (tested and tried by the fires of religious oppression) remains a standard of Christ-centered endurance for believers today. Learn more about the German reformer in the first of this three-part series from Lutheran Hour Ministries. Pastor led Bible Studies starting September 17th at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall.

Healing Service – September 23rd

Here at Holy Cross, we believe that Jesus is alive and well among us through his Holy Spirit, and that a part of his continuing ministry is healing the sick and afflicted. We believe in a supernatural God who still does supernatural things every day. We’re having a healing service on Saturday, September 23rd at 5:00pm in the sanctuary. We’re coming together as a congregation to expect and pray for the healing power of Jesus to be present among us. Come join us!

Heart to Heart – September 23rd

Heart to Heart will help you rediscover the similarities and differences between you and your spouse.  Cost is $69 per person. The workshop is held over 2 sessions:  First Session on Sept. 23, 8:30am to 12:00 pm. Registration deadline is 9/19. Register at hclm.org/marriageworkshop/. Reformation 500 for 500

As we approach the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, we are planning on committing 500 hours of service during the month of October. Visit hclm.org/reformation500 to see the service opportunities and volunteer. Save the date of Oct 29th for a Reformation Celebration.

Kids Church – September 24th

Our topic for September is Friendship. We plan to go to CiCi’s Pizza on Sunday, September 24th at 5:00 p.m.  All Kids Church families are invited to meet at CiCi’s pizza in Sanford.  3695 S Orlando Dr. Sanford, FL  32773.

Book Club – September 25th

Join the Book Club on Monday, September 25th at 7:00pm for discussion of “The Pecan Man” by Cassie Dandridge Selleck led by Betty Hoyer.

BUNCO – September 26th

Come fellowship and have FUN on Tuesday, September 26th at 11:30am with brown bag lunch, games start at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Prizes awarded for most BUNCO, most wins, most losses, and whatever with bagged white elephant items provided by the players.

LWML – Bible Study – September 26th

Are you ready for High School?

Have you started looking ahead to high school for your middle schooler?  We invite parents of 7th and 8th graders to get a preview of what Holy Cross Lutheran Academy’s High School has to offer.  Mrs. Geiss, Upper School Principal, will offer 2 information sessions on Thursday, September 21st — one at 6:00pm and one at 6:45pm.  Choose the time that works best for you.  Classrooms will be open for tours between 6:00 and 7:00pm.  Please stop by to see the great things happening in our classrooms after the 6:00pm session or prior to the 6:45pm session.  If you have questions, please email Sue Stark at sstark@thehcla.org or call 407-936-3636 #3.

Metals for Missions

We are collecting donations of aluminum cans and assorted other metals to fund our various Holy Cross missions. Please place metals in the lil’ red pickup truck on Sundays or blue receptacle in the Fellowship Hall. Contact: Warren Jennison.
