Reformation 500 for 500

As we approach the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, we are planning on committing 500 hours of service during the month of October. Visit hclm.org/reformation500 to see the service opportunities and volunteer. Save the date of Oct 29th for a Reformation Celebration.

Kids Church – September 24th

Our topic for September is Friendship. We plan to go to CiCi’s Pizza on Sunday, September 24th at 5:00 p.m.  All Kids Church families are invited to meet at CiCi’s pizza in Sanford.  3695 S Orlando Dr. Sanford, FL  32773.

Kids Church Extended at 11:00 Service

Join Lisa Mangus – Director of Christian Ministry, after the praise & music upstairs in the Community Room for a Kids Service at 11:00 a.m. Children will sit with their parents for music and prayer.  Lisa will take them upstairs to the Community Room for the duration of the service.  Sign up in the narthex in the Kids Church binder.

LWML Mite Box – September 24th

LWML will have the mite box out this Sunday, September 24th. The money helps NLS Cartridges for the Lutheran Library for the Blind:  Lutheran Braille Workers’ mission is to provide the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ to visually impaired persons.  Providing NLS digital cartridges free of charge is an effective way to reach them with the Word of God.

Book Club – September 25th

Join the Book Club on Monday, September 25th at 7:00pm for discussion of “The Pecan Man” by Cassie Dandridge Selleck led by Betty Hoyer.

BUNCO – September 26th

Come fellowship and have FUN on Tuesday, September 26th at 11:30am with brown bag lunch, games start at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Prizes awarded for most BUNCO, most wins, most losses, and whatever with bagged white elephant items provided by the players.

LWML – Bible Study – September 26th

Calling all men, high school and up, who seek a deeper community connection with other men. Come join us on October 5th and every first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall for a fun time.

Trunk or Treat Meeting – September 24th

200 Baskets for the Sharing Center

Help us provide a nice Thanksgiving Dinner for families in our community! What would Thanksgiving be without STUFFING??? Mashed potatoes and gravy are a must at Thanksgiving and green beans. Yum! We have started our collection and will continue for the next 8 weeks, look for the complete list in the narthex.

Prayer Teams Meeting – October 1st

First Sunday of the Month Cook-out – October 1st

We will have the first Sunday of the month cook-out after the 11:00am service on October 1st in the Courtyard. Come fellowship and connect with your church family!

Family Serve – October 7th

We have our next family serve on Saturday, October 7th, at 8:00AM. We will meet at StarChild Academy on Longwood/Lake Mary Road and clean up our adopted road. Please bring a trash “grabber” and some gloves. RSVP to Pastor Chris at chrisj@hclm.org.

Metals for Missions

We are collecting donations of aluminum cans and assorted other metals to fund our various Holy Cross missions. Please place metals in the lil’ red pickup truck on Sundays or blue receptacle in the Fellowship Hall. Contact: Warren Jennison.

We pray today for all those impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma as well as those impacted by the wildfires in the western states.

 

We pray today for our nation and our world. We ask that God would be with all of our leaders and elected officials; we pray that He would bring peace to the world, an end to violence and especially watch over Christians that are facing persecution.
