Special Voters’ Meeting – February 14th

We are having a special voters’ meeting to be held at Holy Cross Lake Mary in the Community Center on February 14th at 6:30pm. The Call Committee and Board of Directors are recommending Ethan Spira, a 4-yr Seminary student, for our next Church Plant.

Ash Wednesday Service – February 14th

We will be having Soup, made by LWML, and sandwiches, which you will bring with you, at 6:00pm followed by Special Voters’ meeting in the Community Center, then Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00pm in the Worship Center. Service includes the imposition of ashes and communion.

Scout Sunday Pancake Breakfast – February 4th

Boy Scouts will be making their pancakes on February 4th after each morning services in the Community Center.

Chili Cook-Off – January 28th

At noon in the Community Center it’s going to get a little spicy!  Register your chili or to volunteer at hclm.org/chili.

Installation of Pastor Adam – January 28th

Pastor Adam Barcott will be installed as a LCMS Pastor on Sunday, January 28th at Holy Cross Worship Center at 2:00pm.

Family Movie Night – January 27th

Join us for a family “drive in” movie night featuring Lego Batman on our giant outdoor movie screen on Saturday, January 27th at 5:00pm-8:00pm.  Free hot dogs and popcorn will be available, as well as crafts fun for all ages. Kids are encouraged to bring a cardboard box “car” for watching the movie and will get preferred “parking” right up front during the movie. Please bring your own blankets and chairs for this action packed night. Movie starts at 6:00pm. Email Lara Jackson at ljackson@hclm.org with any questions.

Early Communion Class for 4th-5th Graders

The class is for children, which in their parent’s estimation, are mature and ready to receive the Lord’s Supper. The class starts on February 21st at 6:30pm and runs each week on Wednesdays through March 28th.  After completion of the 6-week class, the students are invited to partake in their first communion at the Maundy Thursday service, March 29th at 7:00pm. If you would like to have your child participate in the class, we ask that you do two things: Reserve your spot by registering online at hclm.org/communion and have at least one parent attend each of the six 1-hour sessions with your child.

Book Club – January 22nd

BUNCO – January 23rd

Come fellowship and have FUN on Tuesday, January 23rd at 11:30am with brown bag lunch, games start at noon in the Community Center.

LWML Bible Study – January 24th

Women Build – Habitat for Humanity

Calling all Women Builders!  HCLM is forming a team of women to join with over 150 local women and help build a house that will become a home for a local family.  If you’re interested in getting involved, contact Betty Hoyer at bhoyer@thehcla.org or leave a message at 407.619.0528.  Build time runs from mid April to mid May.  All skill levels are welcome.

Faith & Family Night – March 2nd

Join your Holy Cross family for Faith & Family Night with the Orlando Magic as they take on the Detroit Pistons on March 2, 2018 at the Amway Center! Purchase tickets at our group rate and come to an exclusive pre-game tailgate reception at 1010 West Church Street (home of TheCross Orlando starting at 5:30PM) game time 7:00PM. The evening concludes with a post-game concert on the Magic court by a contemporary Christian artist. Annual BSA Troop 854 Mulch Fundraiser

Our Boy Scout Troop 854 will get mulch delivered free while helping scouts attend summer camp and high adventure expeditions. The deadline to order mulch this year is Thursday, February 1st. Help Feed the Homeless – The Sharing Center

This month we will be collecting items to make a complete meal for the homeless. We are collecting pop-top 1 lb canned ham, pop-top cans of veggies, pop-top can baked beans, single serve fruit cup, packages of instant potatoes, packets of instant coffee and beef jerky. Thank you in advance for your donations.

God is Great – So Let’s Celebrate Together!

On January 26, we will gather at Holy Cross Lake Mary to celebrate the blessings God has bestowed upon us as a school family and as a community. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a FREE concert performed by Jennie Williamson from AriSon Records at 6:30pm in the Worship Center.  Chick-fil-A Lake Mary will be joining us for dinner beginning at 5PM.  Scrumptious chicken sandwiches, nuggets and salads will be available for purchase. We would also like to serve our community and bless the women and children at SafeHouse Seminole with a warm blanket. Join us prior to the concert in the Children’s Center to make a fleece blanket.  We look forward to seeing you and celebrating together!
