Special Voters’ Meeting – February 14th

We are having a special voters’ meeting to be held at Holy Cross Lake Mary in the Community Center on February 14th at 6:30pm. The Call Committee and Board of Directors are recommending Ethan Spira, a 4-yr Seminary student, for our next Church Plant.

Ash Wednesday Service – February 14th

We will be having Soup, made by LWML, and sandwiches, which you will bring with you, at 6:00pm followed by Special Voters’ meeting in the Community Center, then Ash Wednesday Service at 7:00pm in the Worship Center. Service includes the imposition of ashes and communion.

Chili Cook-Off – January 28th

At noon in the Community Center it’s going to get a little spicy today!  Come and join in tasting and judging each chili dish.

Installation of Pastor Adam – January 28th

Pastor Adam Barcott will be installed as a LCMS Pastor on Sunday, January 28th at Holy Cross Worship Center at 2:00pm.

Blood Drive February 4th

“One Blood” will have their bloodmobile on Sunday, February 4th parked in the front parking lot from 8:00am -1:00pm.

Scout Sunday Pancake Breakfast – February 4th

Boy Scouts will be making their pancakes on February 4th after each morning services in the Community Center.

Soup, Sandwiches and Lenten Bible Study

Join Pastor Paul on Wednesday evenings during Lent starting 6:00pm in the Community Center for soup and sandwiches. LWML makes the soup and you bring sandwiches to share. They are looking for volunteers to sign up for soup and to help. If you would like to participate, contact Valerie Schulz at ind_well@bellsouth.net. Bible Study follows for about an hour. Hope to see you there!

Early Communion Class for 4-5th Graders

The class is for children, which in their parent’s estimation, are mature and ready to receive the Lord’s Supper. The class starts on February 21st at 6:30pm and runs each week on Wednesdays through March 28th.  After completion of the 6-week class, the students are invited to partake in their first communion at the Maundy Thursday service, March 29th at 7:00pm. If you would like to have your child participate in the class, we ask that you do two things: Reserve your spot by registering online at
hclm.org/communion and have at least one parent attend each of the six 1-hour sessions with your child. Contact Pastor Chris 407-929-7279.

The Prayer Teams are meeting on Sunday, February 11th at 12:15pm in the Community Center for a meal, devotions, and prayers.

ALOA News – February 11th

Adult Lutherans Organized for Action (ALOA) will be holding monthly gatherings each month on the second Sunday from 12:30pm-2:00pm in the upstairs classroom #2. Next gathering is scheduled on February 11th. Open to all 50+ aged individuals and couples. Contact: Warren Jennison

Dream Builders – March 9th

Dream Builders, Holy Cross’ Women Build team, is hosting a BUNCO night, Friday March 9th.  All ladies are welcome to come ‘roll the dice’ for a great cause – building a house in Apopka for Vicki, single mom of 2.  Your $20 ticket will let you play for great prizes and includes drinks, snacks and desserts. Faith & Family Night – March 2nd

Join your Holy Cross family for Faith & Family Night with the Orlando Magic as they take on the Detroit Pistons on March 2, 2018 at the Amway Center! Purchase tickets at our group rate and come to an exclusive pre-game tailgate reception at 1010 West Church Street (home of TheCross Orlando starting at 5:30PM) game time 7:00PM. The evening concludes with a post-game concert on the Magic court by a contemporary Christian artist. Annual BSA Troop 854 Mulch Fundraiser

Our Boy Scout Troop 854 will get mulch delivered free while helping scouts attend summer camp and high adventure expeditions. The deadline to order mulch this year is Thursday, February 1st. Help Feed the Homeless – The Sharing Center

This month we will be collecting items to make a complete meal for the homeless. We are collecting pop-top 1 lb canned ham, pop-top cans of veggies, pop-top can baked beans, single serve fruit cup, packages of instant potatoes, packets of instant coffee and beef jerky. Thank you in advance for your donations.
