Pastor Matt’s Tuesday Bible Study
Tuesday night Bible class has started in the Community Center from 6:30pm-8:00pm. We are studying service, and how we deal with and help those in need both in our community and in the world. Based on the book, When Helping Hurts, this is a pastor led Bible study with both video and workbook components. As usual lots of good discussion as we look at these issues from a biblical and societal perspective. See you there!
School Days, School Days…
It’s hard to believe, but summer is nearly half-over and the new school year is just around the corner. As many of us prepare for an exciting new school year, many families are beginning to worry about how they will be able to afford the necessary supplies. Help us collect supplies for our community to help the children start the school year off right. Lists are available in the Narthex.
Confirmation Program
Parents, we invite your 7th & 8th grade students to join us for our 2019-2020 confirmation class! Our confirmation program is a small group based, interactive experience that gives students the opportunity to explore and confirm their faith in Jesus Christ. We meet weekly on Wednesday nights 6:30pm-8:00pm through the school year (with holiday breaks). Confirmation is a two-year experience in which students will learn about their faith, become familiar with the Bible, with prayer and will develop a personal testimony. This upcoming year is called “The Foundation”. We’ll be working our way through Luther’s small catechism, which covers the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed and the Sacraments. In addition to the weekly meetings there are three retreats spaced throughout the year where our students can grow in community with one another and dive a little deeper into the material we’ll be covering during the year. There is an annual supply/retreat fee of $100. If you have further questions about our confirmation program or for a complete schedule of the year, please contact Daniel Robison at daniel@hclm.org. Register online at hclm.org/confirmation.
