Current Sermon Series – Seasons: Doing Life Together

Church Service – July 19th

Current sermon series, Seasons: Doing Life Together! As we move into a new church season, we also move into a new season in our lives and in how we are dealing with the current pandemic. We welcome you home to do life together with your family here at Holy Cross.  The readings will be about the life of Christ and the ongoing life of the church as we relate them to our ongoing lives during this challenging season.  Please join us here or online, at 8:00am or 10:00am, for Doing Life Together!

Streaming To Your Home Continues

Our services will be streamed for your convenience during this challenging time. Choose Facebook if you are a Facebook user, otherwise, watch on Youtube.com/hclm. Many streaming devices such as Roku and Chromecast support Youtube Streaming allowing you to watch from your TV.

Tithes & Offerings

We give because we recognize that God has blessed us immensely and so we honor Him by giving back to Him out of our tithes and offerings. You can give online at hclm.org/give or mail to church address at 780 N Sun Drive, Lake Mary, FL 32746.

Prayer Requests

We have always believed in the power of prayer. If there is something weighing on your mind or want to submit a prayer, let us know through our prayer request form or e-mail prayer@hclm.org.

Unscripted Live Video

Join the Pastors on Thursday at 1:30pm for live video “Unscripted” on hclm.org/unscripted or Holy Cross Facebook page.

Student Ministry Devotions

Attention all Middle School, High School and College students! Our own Mrs. Bosco has worked to create daily devotions just for you! They are currently posted on the Holy Cross Lake Mary Facebook and YouTube page. Check them out!

Seating arrangements

Most of you have noticed the seating spacing at church. We have created groups of seating to allow members of households to sit together while remaining socially distant from other households. We feel that this is the best way for us to adhere to government guidance and care for others as we gather. Please find a seating group that most closely resembles your group size. If there are 2 in your party, pick a set with 2 seats, if all 2s are occupied pick a three and so on. You should not sit in a seating group with another household unless you have frequent interaction with that group outside of church(ie:they are in your inner circle). Thanks for keeping others safe.

Announcements & Updates

FREE Back to School Physicals

Our longtime community partner, Shepherd’s Hope, is offering free back to school physicals for those families in our community who are uninsured or under-insured. They will be in Longwood July 28th (9am-12pm), July 30th (4pm-7pm), and August 5th (1pm-4pm). Children must be under 18 years old and an appointment is required. Call 407-876-6699 ext. 246 to schedule.

Sunday Morning Volunteers Needed

Have you ever wanted to get more involved in the church and wanted to meet more people within the church? We are looking for volunteers to help during the services as Ushers and Communion Assistants. These roles are often only an extra 45 minutes once or twice a month, but are so essential at keeping our church services running smoothly. If you would like more information, please contact Lara Jackson at ljackson@hclm.org or talk to Pastor Matt.

Tech Team Volunteers Needed

It takes a team of people to make sure we present a good and distraction-free worship experience. Come join that team! Interested in volunteering? Contact a pastor or Chris Kutcher if interested!

Family Serve this Sunday at 12:30pm

After church this Sunday, a team of people will be heading out to bless the Norm and Eileen Kelly with help in their yard. We will be picking up sticks and clearing some brush  at 12:30 pm. We will maintain our distance to protect everyone.  Bring the whole family, gloves, water, and a chainsaw if you have one. Reach out to Pastor Chris for the address and to come help.

L-Team – Garden for God

A new L-Team is forming – Garden for God!  This L-Team will be working on the gardens at Holy Cross.  Individuals or families will choose one of the gardening areas, clean it out and/or add to it to beautify the property.  Interested?  Contact Chris Jennison – jenn3275@bellsouth.net and reserve your space.  If you enjoy gardening or would like to work in a garden, this team is for you.

Sharing Center – Cereal Needed

Let’s get on track! Our VBS campers from Rocky Railway were supposed to be helping us collect cereal this week, but sadly we had to cancel VBS. Now we need your help more than ever! In 2003 there was an ad with Tricks the Rabbit and a train filled with Trix cereal. Help us fill the train with cereal for the Sharing Center. Pick up cereal donations with your next grocery trip and bring items to church with you on Sunday or drop it off in the office during the week.

2 Ways to donate to Holy Cross without thinking about it

1) Did you know that if you are a Thrivent Financial customer, they offer many ways for you to give to charitable organizations? You may already have Thrivent Choice Dollars that you can direct  to Holy Cross not being utilized. Log into your Thrivent account or talk to your Thrivent representative today to figure out how to get the most from your money.

2) If you shop on Amazon, you can have Amazon donate a portion of all of your purchases to Holy Cross. Simply select Holy Cross as your Amazon Smile partner and shop through the Amazon Smile portal. Check your Amazon account to make sure you are getting the most out of every Amazon purchase.

Smaller Class Sizes Now Enrolling!

Are you or someone you know looking for a smaller class size option for the upcoming school year? Holy Cross Lutheran Academy would like to thank our congregation for their continued support in our growth and continued Christian Education in our community. If you or anyone you know is in need of Preschool through High School education we are now enrolling for the 2020-2021 school year.  Please call the school office at 407-936-3636 or visit our website at www.thehcla.org.
