A Man Named MARTIN

Learn more about Martin Luther with this 3-part series from Lutheran Hour Ministries. The study continues on Sunday mornings at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall.

Join us in “The Story”

We are embarking on a journey of reading through God’s Word in the Book “The Story” together.  “The Story” is a version of the NIV Bible arranged so that it can read straight through as a chronological narrative.  The Bible Study meets every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. By doing this we will be affirming the importance of God’s Word and growing in faith and knowledge together.

Kids Church Extended at 11:00 Service

Join Lisa Mangus – Director of Christian Ministry, after the praise & music upstairs in the Community Room for a Kids Service at 11:00am. Children will sit with their parents for music and prayer.  Lisa will take them upstairs to the Community Room for the duration of the service.  

New Christmas Service Times

Mark your calendars for this year’s Christmas Service times. Christmas Eve is a Sunday. We will have one Sunday Worship service at 9:30AM. Christmas Eve service times: 5:00 PM Family Christmas Service with Children’s Message. 7:00 PM Candlelight Christmas Service & 11:00 PM Traditional Candlelight Service with Communion. On Christmas Day, we will have Carols & readings at 9:30AM.


L Team News

Advent L-Team

What a better way to get into the Christmas Spirit than to learn more about the Advent season while giving back to our community with friends old and new? Bring the family to join Pastor Matt, Wednesday, November 29th in the Community Room from 6:30-7:30 with this L-Team Kickoff as we learn what Advent really is. Then join us throughout the month as we go Caroling in a local neighborhood, Bake Christmas treats, Help with decorating the church, Stuff stockings to bring with as we visit those in the nursing home, and more! Second Tuesday Lunch Bunch – November 14th

Book Club – November 27th

Join the Book Club on Monday, November 27th at 7:00pm for discussion of “Life from Scratch” by Sasha Martin led by Kathy Sinninger.

BUNCO – November 28th

Come fellowship and have FUN on Tuesday, November 28th at 11:30am with brown bag lunch, games start at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Prizes awarded for most BUNCO, most wins, most losses, and whatever with bagged white elephant items provided by the players.

LWML – Bible Study – Wednesday, November 29th

Christmas Decorations – December 2nd

Christmas trees, lights, wreaths: We must be talking about decorating the Worship Center and Fellowship Hall for Christmas. Church Decorating will be held on Saturday, December 2nd starts at 9:00am. See you there!

Parents Night Out – December 8th

Need time for a date or holiday shopping? You’re in luck! Friday, December, 8th, Holy Cross Student Ministry will be hosting Parents Night Out! From 5:30p-8:30p, the kids will have cheese pizza dinner, watch a movie, play games, and do crafts all for $15 per kid! Potty Trained Pre-School-5th graders are welcome. 200 Thanksgiving Baskets for Sharing Center

We provided over 200 baskets to the Sharing Center families this year.

Movie Night With Chik-Fil-A – November 18th

Come beyond the reef and watch “Moana” outside on the giant movie screen in the Chik-Fil-A parking lot. Paint your own “Heart of Te Fiti” rock, and have the opportunity to meet Moana! Bring your chairs and blankets for this exciting night. Movie will start at 6:00. Co-sponsored by Holy Cross Lake Mary.

St. Luke’s Concert Series – November 18th

UCF Symphony Orchestra Reformation 500 Concert on Saturday, November 18th 7:00pm at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church (2021 SR 426 Oviedo, FL 32765).

Metals for Missions

We are collecting donations of aluminum cans and assorted other metals to fund our various Holy Cross missions. Please place metals in the lil’ red pickup truck on Sundays or blue receptacle in the Fellowship Hall. Contact: Warren Jennison.

End of Year Giving

Now would be a great time to think about end of year giving. Many retirement accounts feature a Required Mandatory Distribution that can be donated to a charity with no taxes due.

Prayers of Thanksgiving

Several people have been removed from the Cancer list as they have recovered. We know God’s hand is involved in restoring them to health.

Prayers of Healing

Cathy Maisonet – Recovering from brain surgery and diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Pray for her and her family

Kit Apperson – 23 year old had seizure from blood clots in the brain. Pray the medications work and no surgery is needed

Margorie Curren heart issues and fell this past week; prayers for healing and strength

Winnie Luzzi asthma and bronchitis; prayers of healing

Dawn (friend of Jill Van Damme) she was involved in a car crash caused by a drunk driver on Friday; she had minor injuries.; prayers for a full recovery

Kathy Ratchford (Vicki Casas’ Mom) pray for successful procedure and protect her as she faces cancer treatments once they figure out stage

Wilfredo Rosado Santos prayers for healing and restoration of health
