From Shadows to Radiance: Journey Through Holy Week –
This year, we invite you on a profound journey from the triumphant shouts of Jerusalem to the silent vigil of the tomb, and ultimately, to the blinding light of a new dawn. Our theme centers on the Path to the Cross and the transformative power of Light in the darkness. Join us as we walk through the most pivotal week in history.
Palm Sunday, March 29: The Entrance of Light
We begin our journey by retracing the steps of the King with a Palm Branch processional.
- Traditional Worship: 8:00 a.m.
- Contemporary Worship: 10:00 a.m.
Maundy Thursday, April 2: The Visual Narrative
As the shadows begin to lengthen, we gather for a unique Visual Narrative experience produced by our very own, Owen Russell. This narrative will be depicting the entirety of the events of this Holy Thursday from the preparation of the Upper Room, to the washing of the feet, to the institution of the Lord’s Supper, to praying in the Garden. This will be interspersed with both contemporary and traditional songs/hymns as well as some teaching moments. This isn’t just a service, it’s a storytelling event that brings the Last Supper and Christ’s final commands to life. We will share in Communion together, reflecting on the bread broken and the cup poured out in love. We will also be celebrating First Communion with several of our youth and their families that evening. First communion families will commune at table first, followed by the congregation in a continuous-style communion service.
- Service Time: 7:00 p.m.
Good Friday, April 3: The Deepest Shadow
At the foot of the cross, we confront the weight of the sacrifice. This evening features a Tenebrae (service of darkness) with readings that depict the full range of events of this day from the arrest in the Garden, to the trials before the High priest, Pilate, and Herod, to the Via Dolorosa, to the crucifixion. These readings will be interspersed with both contemporary and traditional songs/hymns as well as prayer and some teaching moments. In the stillness of the evening, we will reflect on the ultimate price paid for our redemption.
- Service Time: 7:00 p.m.
Easter Sunday, April 5: The Victory of Light
The darkness is defeated! We celebrate the Resurrection with a full morning of joy and fellowship.
- Sunrise Service 6:30 a.m. Traditional (with Communion)
- Morning Worship 8:00 a.m. Traditional (with Communion)
- Easter Egg Hunt 9:15 a.m. Fun for the kids!
